As the 2nd Signature Event of the year, Pebble Beach will host 80 of the Tour's top golfers in a no cut event.
The 80 golfers will be paired with an amateur through the first two rounds playing one round each at Spy Glass and Pebble Beach before ditching their amateur partners to play the final two rounds at Pebble Beach.
Despite only playing one round at Spyglass, it can still go a long way to determining the outcome of this event. If the winds pick up, Spyglass actually has some trees that can provide a little protection.

With the bulk of the rounds coming at Pebble Beach it makes sense to focus a little more on the skillset needed here. The course is not long and has wide fairways. Even if fairways are missed the rough is generally not very penal. Even with the smallest greens on tour plenty of greens in regulation are attainable. Now granted if the winds pick up missed greens will likely become more prominent. I'm targeting golfers with a strong approach game but that also have some around the green prowess.
These greens can also be very tricky with a high number of misses coming from 5-10 feet. Previous success on Poa greens could be a benefit as well this week.
The forecast looks to have improved slightly. The bulk of the wind will be Wednesday night rather than on Thursday. The worst of it will be Sunday where the winds could be so gusty it becomes unplayable. The tour may look to jam extra holes in on Saturday considering Monday's forecast isn't looking too promising either.
I don't see any clear wave advantage and the forecast can change at any moment.

I will have Rory and Scottie in two lineups each but I'm not crazy about this range.

Justin Thomas($9.6k)
After struggling last year, Thomas has looked goodnin his last few appearances finishing 12th and 5th at the Wyndham and Fortinet. He also played fairly well at the Ryder Cup. He finished 3rd at the AMEX a couple weeks ago. He's strong with his wedges and creative around the greens both of which are preferred skills here. I like his skillset regardless of the weather and Poa is his best putting surface.
Jordan Spieth ($9.4k)
Spieth has played well at Pebble and won here in 2017. He finished 3rd in his only tournament this year gaining strokes on approach, around and on the greens. Similar to Thomas I love Spieth's creativity around these tiny greens.
8k
Byeong Hun An ($8k)
An came 4th at the Sentry gaining 4.9 strokes tee to green and 2nd at the Sony gaining 8.3 strokes teen to green. He also gained a combined 6 strokes putting in those two events. I riding til the wheels fall off.
7k
Eric Cole($7.3k)
Cole missed his first cut last week since May of last year. He's been incredibly consistent. He's gained strokes on approach in 10 straight tournaments.
